Bore stain removal from a Colorbond fence
I remove bore-water staining from fences, walls, paving and other surfaces.
From a stained fence to a large paved area, I’m Michael and I do the work myself.
I travel across Perth from Mandurah to Joondalup, and further for larger jobs.
I use specialist treatments to break down the iron oxide that causes the staining.
The treatment lifts the stains without relying on high-pressure cleaning.
I also remove rust marks left by garden furniture, fence posts and other metal objects.
Bore stains generally come off completely on Colorbond and windows.
Brick and stone can retain some marks, so I’ll explain what’s achievable before starting.
I clean around the treated area too, so you aren’t left with an obvious clean patch.

“Outstanding pressure washing work on limestone pool area and concrete, pavers, great quality work. Completely exceeded my expectations for bore stain removal on a retaining wall.”
“Michael responds very quickly to you, he is prompt and very professional. He did an excellent job and I would highly recommend him.”
“Michael from ProWash Squirrels was extremely professional, prompt and made the whole experience so pleasant! Absolutely chuffed with the final results!”
Bore-water staining leaves iron oxide on the surface. I use a specialist acid treatment to break it down, then rinse away the treatment and residue with plenty of water at medium pressure. The treatment does the work, rather than trying to blast the staining off with high pressure.
The treatment needs to suit the surface underneath. On brickwork and stone, I balance removing the staining against the risk of damaging the material with further treatment.
On surfaces such as Colorbond and windows, I generally find bore staining comes off completely. Brick and stone can hold onto some marks, and there is a limit to how far the treatment can be taken without damaging the surface.
I’ll explain what I expect to achieve before starting. Sometimes leaving a little staining is the better result than damaging the brickwork or stone trying to remove the last of it.
If bore water keeps spraying onto the same surfaces, it can leave fresh staining after they’ve been cleaned. Removing the existing stains doesn’t stop the water from depositing more iron.
You’ll need to adjust the sprinklers so they water the garden or lawn without spraying onto the walls, fences or paving. That is an important part of keeping the cleaned areas looking good.
Yes. Treating the bore stains can leave a clean patch against the dirtier surface around it. I generally clean the surrounding area too, so you aren’t left with an obvious clean strip along the edge of a driveway or another partly cleaned surface.
We can discuss how much of the surrounding area needs cleaning when arranging the quote.
Where grass borders the stained area, such as along a driveway edge, contact with the treatment can singe the grass. The affected grass generally grows back, but the edge may look singed after the job.
If there is lawn next to the area being treated, I’ll discuss this with you before starting so you know what to expect.
Yes. I also remove rust marks left by metal objects sitting on paving, the bases of fence posts, gutter drips and garden furniture such as tables and chairs.
These generally respond to treatment in a similar way to bore stains. Very thick or heavy rust build-up may only come off partly, so complete removal isn’t always possible.
